ALPHA (2019)

A solo work in progress

Alpha, a solo work choreographed and performed by Khala Brannigan reveals the inner rage and submission behind a woman’s daily experience - one that risks the traditional physical forms of performance. Through the deeply personal experience of being discriminated as a woman, Khala Brannigan sets the space to explore the  direct correlation between the 1970s and our current year of 2019; looking at how far we have come as women while also addressing the continuation of unjust gender roles in our everyday life, including the contemporary dance field.

A version of Alpha was performed as apart of RAWDance’s Concept Series, April 2019 in San Francisco, CA and continues to develop.
